Magic Moments > 2015 > Nina's Return Episode 7081

Written by James Walker, Directed by Scott Major, Produced by Jason Herbison

Channel Eleven: 16/03/15, Channel 5: 30/03/15

Sharon Canning trying to tempt Matt to her hotel room... Matt trying to explain himself to Lauren... Brad shocked to hear what Matt has done... Matt asking if Lauren wants a divorce... Georgia overhearing Nick talking to Paul about the bet to get her into bed...

At the hospital, Nick tells Georgia that he's booked her accommodation for the conference and begins to ask her if she has seen the programme - he sees Georgia having difficulty with a drawer that won't close, he goes to assist and Georgia tells him quite angrily not to touch her. She then confronts Nick about his conversation with Paul and how he placed a bet with him to get her into bed - an upset Georgia then leaves, after calling Nick a pig!

..

At Lassiter's Complex, Lauren is avoiding talking to Matt at home, so he decides to try and talk to her at work but finds he gets the brush off there too. Things are rather tense as they talk and eventually both look relieved when Matt gets a text from Mark asking to meet him. Lauren tells Matt to go, and says that they can talk later. Lauren notices Brad and they smile at each other.

Back at the hospital, Georgia has told Kyle about the bet, and he isn't too chuffed. He wants to go ‘have a word’, but she stops him. Georgia reminds Kyle about Chris and Josh, Kyle agrees but tells Georgia that Nick is not going to get away with this. Georgia explains that she feels stupid at not picking up the signs from the start - Kyle thinks that she needs to make an official complaint. Georgia is reluctant as it will be his word against hers, and she doesn’t think she'll be believed as he is ‘a world-renowned cancer specialist’ and she is ‘an Erinsborough nurse’. Kyle asks where Nick is, but Georgia tells him to just leave it. Kyle agrees but tells Georgia if he sees that ‘dirt bag’ he is going to give him a piece of his mind. He sighs and goes to hug Georgia.

..

At The Waterhole, Sheila fails to get the information from Terese on who the star performer is going to be at the closing ceremony as her attention is more focused on problems at the hotel - a member of staff hasn't turned up for their shift. Terese tells Sheila that ‘she might have to roll her sleeves up’ and she leaves to sort the situation out. Matt is a bit surprised to see Sharon Canning back in town as he’s sitting having a quiet drink. Sharon reminds Matt about him doing a runner the last time she was in town. He apologises if he misled her, but her attention is then drawn to greeting Kyle as he arrives in the bar. Kyle asks them if they remember each other and Sharon says that she and Matt were dance partners at his wedding - Matt looks slightly awkward. Sharon and Sheila greet each other very civilly and Kyle starts filling them in on what's happened to Georgia.

..

At the hotel, Terese escorts a guest into their hotel room and isn't amused to see it’s not been serviced and immediately apologises to the guest. The guest is fine about it and explains that she actually once worked in the hotel. Terese says "I was going to say, you do look a little bit familiar." The guest in question is none other than Nina Tucker but she’s used the false name Florence Arno to book into the hotel - she says that she hasn’t met Terese before. Nina turns down the offer of a free spa treatment, to allow her room to be serviced, in favour of the opportunity to catch up with some people.

Back at The Waterhole, Sheila isn't mincing her words at her description of Paul for his role in the bet and thinks that Nick is worse! Sharon suggests that Kyle should be pleased and proud at them betting on what he has! That comment is enough to send him back to work and when he leaves, Sheila tries and fails to have a word with her daughter-in-law, and seems pleased to inform her that there is no room at number 26, and that she will need to book into the hotel.

..

At Harold's Store, Nina enters and she asks Lauren if Harold is in. Lauren tells her that Harold is in town but he doesn’t work here anymore - she tells Nina to take a seat. Just then Lou comes out of the kitchen and immediately recognises Nina, he greets her warmly with a big hug. Lou asks Nina why she didn’t tell him she was coming, and she explains that he was on her list to visit next but she wanted to surprise him. Susan then enters and immediately recognises her too and more hugs are given. Susan asks Nina if she is here for the concert, as she heard she was going to perform. Nina explains to them both that she’s not appearing at the concert, but rather trying to stay under the radar. Lou tells Nina to take a seat so they can have a good old catch up.

Outside, Brad decides it’s time for Lauren to open up as he could sense things were tense earlier when she was talking to Matt. Lauren says to Brad, "At the moment I just feel like I'm stumbling through, hoping some miracle is going to fall out of the sky and fix this." "Yes, I bet," is Brad's reply. Lauren knows it’s unrealistic but equally admits that she can't face it either. She tells Brad that Matt has made the biggest mistake of his life; she knows she has made mistakes too, but nothing like this. Brad asks Lauren if she can forgive him, Lauren shaking her head says to Brad, “What if I never can? What then?” Brad tells her to give it time but all she can think about is the example they're setting Amber ahead of her own wedding. Brad says, "What you're going through is real life, alright? It’s not always rose petals and honeymoons. You guys are going to get through this, you have before." "It’s never been this bad. Brad, it’s never been like this," she replies. Brad pulls Lauren in for a comforting hug as Matt watches on unseen, having entered the complex as they were talking.

..

Back at number 32, Matt arrives home and immediately opens a bottle of beer, Lauren comments on it when she arrives home moments later and is told to go 'hug it out with Brad.' Lauren tells him that she was upset and that's why she talked to Brad about what's going on, and that he’ll stay quiet, but Matt’s not happy. Lauren reminds Matt that the whole situation is happening to her too, but he doesn't think that she should be talking to Brad. Lauren, getting emotional, tells her husband that their lives have been turned upside down because of the decisions he's made lately, so he's not the only one who gets to struggle with this. Lauren then has a dig at him drinking in the middle of the day but Matt's more peeved at her choosing to unload to Brad and asks why. Lauren tells Matt that she has every right to share it with a friend. Matt very sternly tells Lauren that he trusted her to keep it between them. Lauren, now very angry, shouts, "TRUST!!! YOU WANT TO TALK TO ME ABOUT TRUST. I made one mistake with Brad in Adelaide, how you can compare that with your constant lies and your betrayal, I have no idea!" Lauren gets her bag and storms out.

Nina is filling in Lou and Susan on her career, and they in turn reminisce about Connor entering her in the Uni FM contest. Susan asks if Jack is with her and Nina quickly explains that Jack isn't with her as he’s busy on the soccer circuit. The store begins to get busy, Lou asks Nina if she wants to stay put as he has work to do, but Nina turns down the offer, deciding to go for a walk around the old neighbourhood. She then mentions that she'll need to avoid Paul, since she turned down his concert offer. “Oh... well you know you’re staying in his hotel,” Susan points out to a surprised Nina, but offers to have a word with Terese. Nina thanks Susan.

..

..

Over the strains of Born To Try, Nina pays a visit to familiar haunts within the Lassister’s Complex, then heads into the Community Centre to look at the photo exhibition and sees a photo of her and Jack. Nina then heads to Ramsay Street and looks fondly at number 22 and number 24, then sees Harold’s motorhome outside number 30 and proceeds to give it a knock.

At the hospital, Nick tries to play down the situation and claims that it was a joke, done to let off steam, after Georgia hands him all her work to do with fundraising for the new cancer centre. Georgia’s reply is to throw her iced coffee over him. "That’s how I let off steam. You're right, it’s very important!" Georgia says and begins to walk away. People in the hospital start laughing. Nick starts stuttering as they laugh at him and shouts at them all to get back to work!

Brad catches up with Terese on one of the hotel corridors to hand over a bunch of flowers to help brighten up her day. When they discuss Matt and Lauren, Brad admits that he had a word with Lauren, so Terese asks if the flowers are out of guilt! Brad quickly denies this, but she’s just teasing him, and says that they're all friends and he's allowed to be concerned. Just then Terese’s phone rings, and she tells Brad that she needs to take this call as it's Susan.

..

"I reckon he got off lightly,” Kyle says after Georgia has filled him in on what she did to Nick. She’s concerned that her behaviour wasn’t professional but Kyle reminds her that Nick's wasn’t either. Georgia says to Kyle, "Have you ever heard of pride coming before a fall? Truth is I liked the attention, I liked the praise, and I was flattered by it." "Who wouldn’t be?" is Kyle's reply. Georgia continues, "A lot of people actually. I feel like a part of me was really enjoying getting that kind of attention from a suave, accomplished doctor and I don’t feel like I deserve all of the support and understanding from you." Kyle reminds Georgia that they got married but that doesn’t mean they stop being human. Both apologise to each other and decide on working through their bucket list together, starting with Georgia’s aim of kissing her husband more. They are in the middle of doing just that when Nick walks into the consultation room, interrupting them but before he can escape, Kyle yells out that he wants a word! Kyle informs him that he won't get away with what he did, but Nick turns it around and replies that all anyone knows is what Georgia did to him. Kyle sternly says to Nick "You go and do anything like that to my wife again and I will end you. You got it?!" Nick remains silent. "Yes, exactly what I thought… gutless." says Kyle.

..

Back at the hotel, Terese finishes her call to a troublesome employee and warns them a written warning will be forthcoming! She’s made the call from Nina’s room, just before Nina herself enters, and Terese, now knowing who she is, asks why she checked in under a false name. Nina explains that she was meant to meet someone in Italy for the day. “Florence,” Terese says. Nina continues that the certain person, Jack, was flying in from Chicago but his plane got delayed and by the time he arrived she had to get a plane to London. She explains that she always dreamed about taking a boat ride down the River Arno but all they got was a photo in the transit lounge. Conversation moves on and Nina is thrilled to learn that Terese is living in her old house. Terese promises to get her hotel room ready within the hour, and jokingly adds that it might mean dragging someone off the street to put on a Lassiter’s uniform. Nina says to Terese "Wait! Are you up for a wild idea?"

Matt is unloading his woes on Sharon over a glass of whisky outside The Waterhole. She asks if they are friends again. Matt says to Sharon, “I just told you how wronged I'm feeling by my wife, so…” “Without knowing all the details I’d say your feelings are perfectly justified,” Sharon replies. Sharon then tells Matt that the offer she made last time is still open. Matt reminds her that he is married, but she points out that he isn't saying no! After a few seconds of silence, Sharon starts laughing and Matt joins in...

..

Back at the hotel, Nina exits the bathroom wearing the Lassiters maid’s uniform that Terese was previously carrying. “Are you sure you really want to do this?” Terese asks and reminds her that it isn't glamorous but Nina is looking forward to it, explaining that it’s something she needs to do. “Okay,” is all that Terese can then say, but she reassures Nina that Paul won't pay any attention to her. As Terese leaves the room, Matt and Sharon are kissing in the corridor outside. Terese manages to avoid them seeing her and looks shocked at what she’s just witnessed.
