Cruel hearted Myrnah Bright left her family and moved overseas while her daughter Phoebe was still very young. In 1991 her husband Arthur suffered a stroke and died leaving poor Phoebe alone. The teenager tracked her mother down and travelled to find her but was turned away; thus leaving her homeless. But after returning to Erinsborough, Phoebe was allowed to stay with her headmistress Dorothy Burke in number 30 Ramsay Street.
