When Jimmy Williams was desperate to raise funds to buy a smart watch for his best friend Kirsha Rebecchi, who'd recently lost her hearing and was going to need help understanding people at school, his grandad, Paul Robinson, encouraged him to find an entrepreneurial way to make the money. After Tia Martinez suggested that Jimmy could steal the small bottles of alcohol from Lassiters Hotel, where Jimmy lived in the penthouse, and sell them to her brother, Gus, he was initially reluctant. However, having come up with no better ideas of his own, Jimmy started following Xanthe Canning, who'd recently joined the hotel's housekeeping team, and stole bottles from her trolley and from the rooms she was cleaning. With the numbers not adding up, Xanthe came under suspicion of stealing and matters were made worse when hotel guest John Bushell complained about the minibar charges on his bill, demanding that they be removed and explaining that he was on liver medication so there was no way he would touch the booze.
