After tragedy struck at an illegal rave being held in a condemned warehouse, many of Erinsborough's young people ended up in Erinsborough Hospital. After Libby Kennedy was brought in, nurse Stasey Cotton explained to her, and Libby's boyfriend Darren Stark, that she was very lucky not to have been more badly injured, but would still have extensive, and painful, bruising for some weeks, but would only need to stay overnight unless the pain or the coughing got worse. The following week, Nurse Cotton assisted in surgery when Carmella Cammeniti went into premature labour and had to have an emergency C section. Though the baby was delivered successfully, it was rushed to the neonatal unit due to breathing problems, and Carmella, unable to visit her child following her operation, grew increasingly distressed, though Stasey did her best to reassure her that everything was going to be fine.
