Robin Dawal 2015
Occupation: Artist, Corporate Logo Designer

With Lassiter's hotel looking to rebrand, manager Terese Willis hired Robin Dawal to come up with some designs. As Robin was chatting to Terese in Harold's Store, he got chatting to the store's owner Lauren Turner, who had noticed that they were looking at some logo designs from the recent Erinsborough Festival, and she proudly explained that her daughter Paige had been responsible for them. After learning that Lauren also dabbled in drawing, Robin attempted to get to know her better, but Terese explained that Lauren was recently single and might not be interested in a relationship at the moment. However, after seeing her husband Brad chatting to Lauren later, Terese, still painfully insecure over their history (as Brad was Paige's father), encouraged Robin to ask Lauren to show him some of the local art scene. The pair found that they had an easy rapport, but as they were later talking in the store, and Robin suggested that he could commission Lauren to make some artwork for the hotel, Brad saw them together. When Lauren went out to the kitchen to make a phone call, Brad warned Robin off, telling him that Lauren wasn't ready to be seeing someone, so he should back off. A confused Robin quickly left, and Lauren was even more confused when he then got in touch to say that he would no longer be requiring any of her work for the Lassiter's job.

After Terese got in touch with Robin and apologised on Brad's behalf, he agreed to try working with Lauren again, and the pair came up with some final logo designs to show to Terese. With things still very tense between Terese and Brad, she was keen to make sure that Lauren was kept occupied with Robin, and so when she saw their ideas, she hated them, but pretended to like them, explaining that they were just a little too 'romantic'. She then suggested that Robin and Lauren should take a trip into the city and look at some other hotels that had recently rebranded. However, after Terese confided in Naomi about how much she disliked the designs, it didn't take long for Brad to hear about it, and he soon realised that his wife was still feeling threatened and was plotting to keep him and Lauren away from each other.

When Robin met up with Lauren to show her the final designs, he decided to take the opportunity to ask her out. After clarifying that this was a date, and not just dinner as friends, that he was talking about, Lauren became uncomfortable with the situation and decided that it might be best if they ended their friendship and their professional relationship, as she wasn't yet ready to even think about moving on from her recently deceased husband.
