When Brenda Riley decided to advertise the spare room at 24 Ramsay Street, the house she was renting, in the hope of meeting some single men, one of her callers was a blokey bloke named Ernie, who quickly became concerned with the levels of cleanliness and tidiness in the house. As he asked if he’d be expected to keep it that tidy, Brenda realised that he probably wasn’t the best person to share her home with.
