When her husband, A Good Hair Day salon owner, Ivan, did a runner to avoid serious debts, Katrina was left to break the news to the salon employees. She was shocked to find out how Ivan had been running the business and that he’d sacked the manager, Lyn Scully, when she’d dared to question him. Katrina admitted that Ivan had a gambling problem and she’d been keeping some money aside in case something like this should ever happen. Lyn managed to convince her to use her savings and small business skills to keep the salon open. Having saved the business, Katrina moved on the following year, selling the salon to Gino Esposito.
