Serbian immigrant Miroslav Ristic settled just outside Perth in Australia, and although he came from working class roots, he became the owner of a successful vineyard. He married Svetlanka and they had two children; a son, Zoran, and a daughter, Liljana, who married the vineyards accountant, David Bishop. Following the breakdown of his marriage, Miroslav returned to his home nation of Serbia, where Dr Karl Kennedy attempted to contact him, as Liljana required an urgent liver transplant, though before Miroslav could be contacted, a donor was found in Australia.
