When Libby Kennedy found out that her boyfriend Darren Stark had been having an affair with their neighbour, Lynda Stephens, it was the final straw for her and she left their home in Shepparton to return to her parents in Erinsborough. Darren followed soon after and eventually convinced Libby to give him a second chance, as she came to realise that she had pushed him into Lynda’s arms by constantly comparing him to her dead husband, Drew. However, the relationship had barely gotten off the ground again when Libby found out that Darren had kissed Ramsay Street resident Janae Timmins and promptly sent him packing, this time for good. A few weeks later, with Darren away on business, Libby returned to Shepparton with her friend Steph Scully to pack up her belongings, and found Lynda at the door. Though Lynda accepted the blame for the affair, she explained to Libby that Darren loved her, but always felt that, after Drew, she settled for something less than love.
