When Pepper Steiger found herself being stalked, she started receiving mysterious gifts, then a note, attached to an inflatable clown, asking to meet at a local park. With Pepper’s dad, Senior Sergeant Allan Steiger watching, Pepper waited amidst a children’s party, before a little girl handed her a wrapped gift. Once Allan had checked it was safe, Pepper opened it and found a love letter from her childhood sweetheart Kevin Casey, confirming her fears that he was getting her back for aborting their baby when she was 17, when in fact she had miscarried. When Allan questioned Jessica and the parents, they explained that the present was given to Jessica by a clown, who said it was part of a game and nobody had thought any more of it, while, from the bushes, Kevin’s twisted mother Mary stood and watched.
