> Erinsborough
Located
in suburban Melbourne. Erinsborough, is a diverse district,
where leafy residential bliss and Australia's corporate elite
mingle seamlessly. Erinsborough is situated near the Erinsfield
river, the original name of the district.
The
local High School, Erinsborough High, provides public
education, as does the local Eden Hills University.
Other local mainstays include the radio station UNI-FM,
affiliated with the University, as part of EdenFM,
and the town newspaper, the Erinsborough News.
The
centre of activity in Erinsborough is undoubtedly the Lassiter's
Complex, the founder of a worldwide chain of prestige
hotels. This upscale note is carried through to the wealthy
suburbs of Eden Hills.
Nearby
locations of note include Elliot Park and Anson's
Corner.
Ramsay
Street is built on the site of the Ramsay Orchards, once
owned by the notorious "Black" Jack Ramsay, from
whom the street name derives. Both the Ramsay and Robinson
families have an ancestral presence in the street, marked
with many feuds over the years.
Local
district Warrinor is slightly less affluent, housing
a men's prison, amongst other things.
Warratah,
another nearby district, was the scene of a council battle
over property development, which proposed draining the
Warratah Creek, a fragile ecosystem which housed many
rare species.
