After resuming his affair with hotel employee Kirsten Gannon, a guilty Paul Robinson offered to take his partner Rebecca Napier with him on a business trip to Europe. When Rebecca turned him down, as she was planning to take the entry exams for law school, Paul turned to Kirsten and offered her the ticket. Though she was about to head to Queensland for a few days with her son, Mickey, and Mickey's dad Ned, she agreed to fly out to Paris later on. A couple of weeks later, a drowsy Kirsten picked up Paul's mobile in their hotel room in Paris, whilst he was in the shower, finding Paul's shocked daughter, Elle, on the other end. Though Elle had known about the affair, Paul had assured her it was over and, though Kirsten tried to explain and promised to end things, Elle angrily threw out all of her father's clothes.
