Nell Feeney has had a career spanning over twenty years in the Australian television industry, making guest appearances in shows such as Blue Heelers, Stingers and The Secret Life of Us.

Whilst appearing in a regular role on police drama Phoenix, Nell met future husband Shane Connor, who was guest starring in the show. The couple married in 1994, having twin children, before divorcing in 1997. Shane went on to play Joe Scully in Neighbours from 1999-2004.

In 2003, Nell herself guest-starred in the show in the role of Joanne Blair after serving as a trainee story storyliner for the series. In 2004, she made another appearance on the show playing the larger-than-life Janelle Timmins, mother of then regular character, Scott 'Stingray' Timmins. In 2005, Nell returned to the role and was made a regular cast member.

In late 2006 it was announced that Nell and her character's onscreen daughter Bree, played by Sianoa Smit-McPhee, would both be leaving the show. They finished filming in March 2007.
