Human Nature 2000

Whilst organising Erinsborough High’s Debutante Ball, Felicity Scully was surprised one day when she bumped into Michael Tierney from the group, Human Nature, in the Coffee Shop one day. He told her that he and the group had a warm-up gig in Eden Hills that evening, but he was suffering from a sore throat. Since the surgery next-door was closed, Flick took him to see doctors Karl Kennedy and Darcy Tyler, who lived by her on Ramsay Street. Michael was grateful, but Karl told him that he would have to rest his voice for a couple of days and couldn’t do the Eden Hills gig. Flick then suggested another venue for their warm-up – the Deb Ball. A couple of days later, the group performed at the ball and were a huge hit. They then spent the evening at an after party at 30 Ramsay Street before signing autographs for many of their screaming fans who’d heard about the gig and had tracked them down.

Originally formed in 1989, the band Human Nature released their first album, Telling Everybody, in 1996 and have since gone on to have 17 Top 40 hits and 5 Top Ten hits. The group is made up of brothers Andrew and Michael Tierney, as well as Toby Allen and Phil Burton. Their Neighbours appearance promoted their single He Don’t Love You, which charted in the Top 20 in the UK, as well as becoming the tenth best-selling Australasian single in Australia for 2001. Holly Valance, who played Flick Scully, also appeared in the video for the song. November 2005 saw them release their sixth album, Reach Out.
