Francesca Sangmu had roots in Tibet but her family settled in Sydney. She fell in love with and married the well-educated Alex Kinski. Their first child, Katya was born in 1984, and they went on to have two more children, Rachel, and Zeke. They raised them all in a strict and old-fashioned manner, and also chose to educate them from home. Sadly Francesca died in the year 2000, which had huge repercussions for the future of her family.
