As Coco Lee planned her wedding to Alistair Hall, she was delighted to learn that one of her favourite teachers from high school, Susan Kennedy, now also worked as a celebrant, immediately wanting her to officiate. Susan was happy to take her on as a client, but when she and her nephew Nate were shown a photograph of Alistair, they were shocked to realise that he was the same person who, after seemingly being homophobic towards Nate, had then kissed him. Susan contacted Coco and told her that she could no longer officiate her wedding, though didn't give a reason, leaving Coco very worried. When she then bumped into Nate and asked him if he knew anything, he felt terrible for her and told her the truth.
