The equally scatty mother of madcap Melanie Pearson, Mrs Pearson turned up in Ramsay Street on the morning of her daughter’s wedding to Joe Mangel, and immediately brought out the nerves in the previously calm bride. Desperate for some peace as her mother rushed around the house, Melanie decided to send her off to the church to check out the flowers. After getting teary at the wedding, Mrs Pearson couldn’t resist one more tasteless comment as she saw her daughter off on her honeymoon, reminding her that at least she wouldn’t become a lonely old maid now.
