Santo Oliveira 2024
Occupation: Fruiterer

After a disastrous attempt to move on from ex-husband Toadie by finding someone on a dating app, Melanie Pearson decided to ask Santo Oliveiro, the fruit supplier for her drinks van, out on a date. Unfortunately, the date went badly, as the conversation proved difficult and there was little chemistry between them. The situation only worsened as Melanie took Santo home for a nightcap and they attempted a kiss, but quickly realised that it was a mistake and agreed to just be 'fruit friends'. However, noticing how excited people were for her, and feeling that it might finally help Toadie's new wife Terese to stop worrying about her, Melanie claimed that things had gone well and that she and Santo would be seeing each other again.

Meanwhile, Santo set up a new date with Ramsay Street resident Vera Punt. This date went a lot more smoothly, and it seemed that they'd be seeing each other again, but it was witnessed by Terese, who was immediately concerned that Melanie was being two-timed by her new man. After speaking to Vera, who happily confirmed that she and Santo had plans to meet again, Terese spoke to Toadie, wondering how on earth to break the news to Melanie, not wanting to feel like they were interfering in her life. When they later spotted Santo making a delivery at Melanie's drinks van, Toadie's anger boiled over and he rushed over to confront Santo about his behaviour. As it looked like a fight was about to break out, Melanie was forced to admit that she'd lied about the whole thing.
